Monticello install clock

What happens on the day we hang your ERV or HRV

Mississippi corridor lots and I-94 plats share a predictable install rhythm. Walk the clock below, then request a window. Core choice still comes from humidity and sealing — the clock just shows how the day lands.

Furnace Direct schedules licensed recovery-ventilator installs in Monticello. No equipment counter sales — the form books a visit that ends in a flat installed price.

The clock

  1. 07:30

    Arrive and walk the route

Confirm hood elevations, mechanical-room wall, and any Mississippi walkout oddities from the survey photos.

  2. 08:15

    Protect floors and pull covers

Drop cloths on main paths; open the air-handler cabinet if we are tying into existing duct.

  3. 09:00

    Hang the cabinet

Level, vibration pads, condensate plan if the core needs it. Core type is already decided from your humidity notes.

  4. 10:30

    Cut and flash exterior hoods

Intake and exhaust on different elevations when the lot allows — quieter side away from I-94 noise when possible.

  5. 12:00

    Midday balance check

Rough airflow numbers; adjust dampers before finish work so we are not chasing noise later.

  6. 13:00

    Controls and furnace integration

Interlock, timer or continuous setting, homeowner walkthrough of filters.

  7. 15:00

    Seal, clean, label

Label intake versus exhaust, leave filter sizes, photo the final hood flashings for your records.

  8. 16:00

    Hand-off

Demo the wall control, confirm heat is restored, schedule the first filter reminder.

Your homework the evening before

Clear the mechanical wall, unlock gates for side-yard ladder work, and write down the main air complaint in one line. That line is how we confirm the core still matches what we quoted.

What is different about a Monticello lot

Mississippi corridor and downtown fringe

Walkouts, freeze detailing at exterior hoods, and finished lower levels that limit chase options. Extra time for clean ceiling patches when we must open a soffit.

Inland I-94 / Highway 25 plats

More attic trunk access, quieter outdoor air, faster hood days when side yards are open.

Clock makes sense? Pick a target week and we confirm scope.

Hold a Monticello window

The first thirty days after we leave

Listen for hood whistle in high wind, watch morning glass for two cold weeks, and replace or wash filters on the card we leave. Call if static or fogging moved the wrong direction — that is how we catch a core mismatch early.

What we need before we can schedule

Address, preferred weeks, whether a cabinet already exists, and the humidity complaint in plain language. Photos of the mechanical room and exterior walls speed the visit.

Install-day questions from Monticello

How long is a typical Monticello install day?

Most single-family swaps or first installs land in one working day when attic or basement chase space is ordinary. Mississippi walkouts with finished ceilings and long hood runs can push into a second morning for trim and balance.

Do we need to leave the house?

Usually not. Expect tool noise, short power interruptions at the furnace circuit, and outdoor hood cutting. Pets should be secured away from open exterior penetrations.

Will you shut down the furnace for the whole day?

Only while we tie into the air handler and set control wiring. Heat is back for evening in nearly every Monticello job unless we discover unsafe venting that must be corrected first.

What if our I-94 corridor lot has limited side-yard access?

We plan hood elevations and ladder work from the survey photos. Tight side yards change staging, not whether HRV or ERV is the right core.

Can you install during a deep cold snap?

Yes with staged openings. Exterior hood cuts are timed so the house is not left open. Extreme cold may shift outdoor cutting to the warmest afternoon hour.

What do we prepare the night before?

Clear a path to the mechanical room, move storage off the chosen wall, and note any unfinished punch-list items from a prior remodel that could block duct routes.
